Preparation of a Resettlement Action Plan for over 400 farmers/households within the project area located in Mwea, Kirinyanga County.
Carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for Thiba Dam.
Implantation of the RAP in liason with the Valuars and conveyancing firm to ensure full compensation for Farmers/PAPS, assisting farmers in getting Ensuring that a participatory approach is envisaged in all decision making and key stakeholders are involved.
Training PAPS on transitional life management new business ventures psycho social support and conflict resolution between PAPs and Host communities.
Capacity building and Grievances Redress for PAPs.
All the activities were under taken in strict adherence to JICA resettlement policy and GOK land policies.

Description of the project
Preparation of a Resettlement Action Plan for 1080 households within the project area located at the confluence of Athi River and Thwake River in Kitui and Makueni Counties.
This compensation value totaled Kshs 3 billion.
Carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for Thwake Multipurpose Dam. Implemantation of the RAP in liason with the Valuars and conveyancing firm where later the National Land Commission took over to ensure full compensation for PAPS, assisting in getting alternative land for relocation and new business.
Ensuring that a participatory approach is envisaged in all decision making and key stakeholders are involved. Training PAPS on transitional life management new business ventures psycho social support and conflict resolution between PAPs and Host communities.

The EIA evaluated the likely impacts of the development with a view of putting in place mitigating measures to satisfy the requirements of the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) and International Practices. Proposals for modifications to the project design were made to meet or improve the environmental performance.
Kenya – Environmental Audit, 2011
Client: Agro Chemical and Food Company in Muhoroni Town.
The Audit involved the evaluation of the existing chemical and Food Company in accordance with the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) Guidelines, the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act, 1999 and the Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations 2003 and best International Practices. Noise level measurements, Soil and effluent samples were collected for analysis to provide baseline data. Proposals were submitted for mitigation and monitoring plans as part of the Audit.

This was the initial Environmental Examination for the Tana River Basin Tourism Area. The examination is evaluating and identifying the initial environmental concerns associated with tourism activities in Tana River Basin. The findings are to be incorporated in the Tourism Trust.
Kenya – Environmental Audit
Client: Afro Plastics Kenya Limited-Nairobi city
The Audit involved the evaluation of the existing firm in accordance with the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) Guidelines, the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act, 1999 and the Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations 2003 and best International Practices. Soil and effluent samples were collected for analysis to provide baseline data. Proposals were submitted for mitigation and monitoring plans as part of the Audit.
The study involved Environmental Assessment using Soil Gas survey; Tank backfill corrosivity tests; site soil corrosivity tests; confirmatory soil sample collection in areas exhibiting high soil gas responses and confirmatory groundwater sample collection in areas exhibiting high soil gas responses for laboratory analysis of TPH BTEX and PAH.
The assessment entailed Desktop Study, Geoprobe Soil Gas Survey, Soil and Groundwater Sampling for lab analysis and Report Preparation. The site assessment provided the required environmental assessment data for the site in order to establish a baseline condition status of the facility.
